Saturday, June 20th at 7:00pm - “The Korean War” by Major General Gordon DuqueminMajor General Gordon Duquemin, West Point graduate, class of 1947, is going to present a program on the Korean War in which he was an up-close participant. It has been called ”the forgotton war” for many years; in fact, war was never declared! From Pork Chop Hill to the “miracle at Inchon” to the retreat of the “frozen chosen from from the frozen Chosin,” this conflict deserves much greater scrutiny by Americans, and the veterans are due greater recognition than they have received. Some of the battles are the most harrowing ever endured by American soldiers. General Duquemin has commanded at every level:Platoon, Company, Battalion, and Brigade, and finally the “Big Red One”, 1st Division. Included among his numerous awards are Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, etc, etc. For those of you who know General Duquemin, he has not slowed down since his “retirement” and currently serves the USO and is on the board of The National Museum of Patriotism. He and his wife Patt have been supporters of The Circa History Guild from its inception. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
