Thursday night, Feb. 12th “Abraham Lincoln and his Lieutenants”

On Thursday night, February 12th, Circa Historian Bill Potter will present a program entitled “Abraham Lincoln and His Lieutenants.” The 16th President was a shrewd judge of character and ability when it came to political appointees. His military command selections tended not to turn out so well until his choice of Ulysses S. Grant to command the armies of the Union. The lecture will highlight the President and his relationships with cabinet choices, Ambassador to Great Britain, Charles Francis Adams, and the commanding generals of the Army of the Potomac.
